“In 2005 the planning stage began to redevelop the existing cabins at Wilderness Point Resort into a 45 unit resort townhome project. The original engineering firm hired to prepare engineering for MPCA permits completed a system design that was complex and did not allow for developing the project in phases. In connection with a replatting of the project to respond to changing market conditions, Halling Engineering, Inc. was hired to redesign the project. The new wastewater system received MPCA approval at a 40% construction cost savings of $360,000. We were pleased with the final design of the project as HEI was efficient and very cost conscious in the design of the water, wastewater, storm drainage and grading plans for our project. Greg worked well with the MPCA and was able to work out a phased plan for the sewer system that has minimized our costs during the crucial front end of the project.
